While we’re still a few days way from the Switch 2’s big reveal on April 2nd, Nintendo made some big announcements for its current console including some pretty big games such as Metroid Prime 4, an official Patapon Port, a new Pokemon game, and more. With that in mind though, the company also unveiled a new app for Android and iOS smartphones, which is now available for download today.

Dubbed “Nintendo Today,” the app will give users updates regarding games and the upcoming Switch 2 console. According to Nintendo:

…this smart-device app is like a daily calendar which delivers a variety of content including latest news, videos, and comics of your favorite Nintendo games and characters from select franchises.

Nintendo also unveiled that it’s working on a new means to allow users to lend friends and family digital copies of their games, much like how you would let someone borrow physical cartridges. Dubbed “Virtual Game Cards,” the feature will roll out in April and will let users lend games via local WiFi connections to other users under the same Nintendo Switch Family account, with a limit of two weeks.
